Faith & Laurence
There are some weddings that are just so stunning, it’s impossible to draw your eyes away. And when it comes to Faith & Laurence’s gorgeous setting, you’ll soon understand why we just can’t stop staring at these photos!
After a sweet proposal in Lembongan, Faith & Laurence chose to return to Bali for a relaxed celebration with an intimate group of loved ones. Inspired by a vision of “Beach Chic”, it was an easy decision for them to tie the knot at the luxurious and all-inclusive Komune Resort, with sweeping ocean views at their doorstep.
Their gorgeous beachfront ceremony was complete with scattered rose petals and rattan peacock chairs, framed by the towering palm trees that line the perimeter of the resort. Following their vows, guests made their way poolside for a relaxed cocktail hour before dinner.
Set out on the beachfront deck at Komune, their intimate reception took place against a seriously breathtaking sunset backdrop. This pastel, watercolour sky was the perfect touch to an already beautiful setting – long teak dining tables paired with oak crossback chairs, and tablescapes filled with soft peach flowers in crystal vases and glowing lanterns.
Now picture all of this under strings of drop-down pendant lighting, the air filled with acoustic melodies and the setting sun casting an amber glow across the deck, as guests shared platters of food and toasted to the happy couple. In a word… magic!
With a fire-twirling performance to complete the night, it’s safe to say Faith & Laurence’s wedding was just as unforgettable for their guests as it was for them. Perfectly captured by Mickey Ross, check out more snaps from this day below along with some wedding planning advice from the bride and groom!
How we met: We met through an online dating site in 2010
The proposal: We went to Bali for a holiday and went to stay on Lembongan Island for a few days. We had the most perfect day on the scooter exploring the island and stopping for drinks, nibbles and swims to cool off. We went out for a casual dinner and when we came back Laurence gave me a present. I opened the wrapping and found a photo album. Inside he had arranged photos from our second date right up to most recently. On the last page were four photos of a message he had written in the sand ‘Faith will you marry me?’ I turned to him and he had a box with a beautiful ring.

Where did you find your styling inspiration for your Bali wedding? I spent a lot of time looking at Pinterest, Instagram and also the styling advice of Wayne at Komune Bali.
What was the hardest part about planning a destination wedding? I fortunately was living in Bali at the time so it was easy to source things that I wanted for the wedding. However, finding quality suppliers was difficult, it was fantastic to have Wayne’s knowledge and connections. (Thank goodness for our new ‘The Bali Bride Directory’ where you’ll find quality suppliers at your fingertips! – TBB)
Why did you choose Bali as your wedding destination? We choose Bali because we were living there at time and also because I’m from Australia and Laurence is from New Zealand and we both lived in England at different times, so we had friends and family all over the place. We thought it would be better and more fun for everyone to have a whole week holiday.
How did you stay organised while planning a destination wedding? I used excel spreadsheets to keep of track go guests and to do lists, but honestly Wayne at Komune took care of most things. I just kept in contact with him.
