Deviana & Andrew’s Flower-Filled Fairytale Wedding at Villa Puri Nirwana in Ketewel
Deviana & Andrew’s Flower-Filled Fairytale wedding is the Romantic Bali Wedding celebration of your dreams! Filled with lush green and white styling and wooden furniture, these two tied the knot at Villa Puri Nirwana in Ketewel with all of their closest friends and family present from Australia and Indonesia.
Planned by the sensational team at Wonderland Bali Events, Deviana and Andrew wanted to create a wedding in Bali that was (in their words) “western enough to enjoy for our foreigner friends and familiar enough for Devi’s side of the family.” We think you’ll agree their wedding planner and stylist Anastasia brought their vision to life perfectly.
This beautiful Ketewel celebration began with a ceremony nestled in amongst the lush villa grounds, styled beautifully with long wooden bench seating, romantic chiffon draping and an aisle adorned with the most stunning baskets filled with white and green flowers created by Bloomz. From there, guests enjoyed a colourful passionfruit cocktail on the lawn served from the exquisite wooden bar, delightful mini burgers and enjoyed relaxing on the array of cocktail furniture from Wonderland Rentals and Bali Event Hire.
As the stars came out, everyone enjoyed an al fresco dinner under the stars amongst long wooden tables, wooden chairs, and the most incredible canopy of cascading greenery and chandeliers. Table arrangements were filled with hints of blue, white and stylish golden tableware, stone coloured napkins and the most beautiful antique-inspired ceramics filled with large bunches of florals from Bloomz. Plus each guest was gifted a gorgeous personalised travel tag to take home.

Over to Devi & Andrew…
How we met: Tinder in 2015 while Devi was transiting in Singapore and Andrew was flying off to the Philippines. Let’s just say the right place at the right time!
The proposal: Yellowstone, Wyoming in a ski gondola overlooking the valley. With the most beautiful view you’ve ever seen!
The Details…
Wedding date: 14th of September 2019
Wedding Ceremony & Reception Venue: Villa Puri Nirwana
Total Guests: 78 people
Our style/Inspiration: We wanted to create something beautiful for us and our guests full of lots of greenery, white flowers and hints of blue.
Who we couldn’t have done it without (Bali Vendor): Wonderland Bali
Advice for future Bali Brides: Get a good wedding organizer, especially if you’re booking a destination wedding. We couldn’t have done it without Anastasia from Wonderland Bali. We fully trusted her as we could not attend any of the tastings or even view the venue in person! We also had a Pinterest mood board to help her navigate through what we wanted.
Our Wedding Day…
Wedding Planner/Stylist: Wonderland Bali
Décor/Furniture: Wonderland Rentals
Flowers/Florist: Bloomz
Hair & Make-up: @nerissarvianamua is Devi’s junior in highschool. She just started her own makeup gig and Devi really liked how simple her makeup was. A lot more natural than the typical Indonesian wedding makeup. Devi was really impressed by her because she managed to organize a group of makeup artists and hairstylists for her bridesmaids and family too with zero experience.
Photography: Diktat Photography. We went with Diktat because they were recommended by Anastasia. We saw a few sample images from them and decided that we liked the filters they apply and the general tone of their photographs.
Videography: Danny Halim
Favours: @yuoandleather. We travel a lot so we thought it was appropriate for us to order luggage tags as favours. We were really pleased with how they turned out. People brought them back and actually used them.
Catering: Bali Good Food. The food looked good, especially in pictures! We had a welcome dinner at Cuca and that was really good too. We really enjoyed the food there!
Cake/Dessert: Butter Bali I wanted a simple naked cake for the wedding cake as I just wanted it to be tasty. Turned out it was really tasty, I didn’t even get a taste.
Stationery/Invitations: Devi actually made the invitations and printed them out in New York.
Wedding Songs:
Down the Aisle: Fly me to the moon cover – Macaroons Project
After Ceremony: I do – Colbie Callait
Dinner Entrance: You make my dreams come true – Daryl Hall & John Oates
Cake Cutting: When you say nothing at all – Endless Summer
First Dance: Hungry eyes – Eric Carmen
The Bridal Party Details…
Bride’s Dress: Alexandra Grecco
Bride’s Shoes: Pedro
Bridesmaid’s Dresses: Halston Heritage
Bridemaid’s Shoes: Assorted
Groom’s Attire & Shoes: Black Tux

Honeymoon Details: We had a pre-honey moon! We went on a Cruise to Alaska-Canada and we went around the states for a bit. We also had a mini-honeymoon in Bali. We stayed at Kima Surf Camp for 2 weeks and went surfing every day. Dev was already 3 months pregnant at the time and still surfed!
The Final Part…
Where did you find your styling inspiration for your Bali wedding?
Devi mainly took control of this. She browsed on Pinterest a lot and basically stitched together ideas from there. She had a hard time deciding on a dress though as she didn’t know if she wanted to go for a more bohemian look. I think if we got a different venue, it would have been that way.
What was the hardest part about planning a destination wedding?
Organizing the older family members. They aren’t tech-savvy so someone has to handhold them throughout the whole process of booking a place, getting to the venue and back, etc. I think we were also pretty strict with the headcount, so we, unfortunately, had to balance between friends and family.
Why did you choose Bali as your wedding destination?
Andrew is from Australia and Devi’s from Bogor, Indonesia. We thought Bali would be a good middle-ground for everyone. It’s western enough to enjoy for our foreigner friends and familiar enough to navigate for Devi’s side of the family. Some of our guests were even adventurous enough to go hike Mt. Rinjani after the wedding!
How did you stay organised while planning a destination wedding?
We had an excel spreadsheet for everything and had a constant line of communication with Anastasia. Everything was done via whatsapp so it was nice and traceable. We could always browse through the chat to go back on things we had discussed. As for accommodation for our guests, Devi’s mum organized everything for her side of the family while Andrew’s mum organized for his side. I think the division of labour, appointing people who can take lead on things is very helpful -keeps you from feeling overwhelmed.
Budget: 50k USD
Actual Cost: 47k USD
